Diane Pickel Plappert is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Nursing. She was a flight nurse for 20 years for a level one trauma center in Washington DC and also a Naval Reservist.
CDR Plappert spent 11 of her 20 years in the reserves assigned to the USMC after her first recall in support of Operation Dessert Storm. Her second deployment on active duty was in support of the I MEF in a FRSS Forward Resuscitative Surgical System in Iraq in 2003 for OIF I
She is presently a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner for an Emergency Department in PA. Diane is pursuing her graduate degree at Drexel University in Psychiatric Nurse Practitiioner
Diane ;lives in PA with her two children.
Her artwork is a product of war and twenty years of trauma care. She has no professional training but on returning from Iraq felt a need to express things in terms there were no words for.
